| So who else here loves the Mass Effect games? I totally do. My femShep is hot, which doesn't hurt. Favorite character besides Shepard is probably Garrus, although Grunt and Miranda are cool as well. As to whether I liked the first one or second one better, I'm gonna have to say the second one. The characters are much better, overall. Ashley and Kaiden can both suck it. I am definitely looking forward to the third game in the trilogy. Here's to hoping it's a great ending to the series. | |

| I have only played the first, which I beat. I find the games a lot of fun, and my favorite NPC is probably Wrex. And I agree that Ashley and Kaiden both suck pretty bad.I plan on buying the second game pretty soon, but I'm in no rush. | |

| I like Garrus, but the fact you can do unmentionable things with him still grosses me out. Four.
And Tali is love. I was really happy she rejoined the party in two.

| I adore Mass Effect. The first one was definitely a game I never thought Bioware would be able to top. But they did.
My favorite characters are Jack and Garrus. I was so sad when I found out Jack wasn't a female Shepard romance option.

| If you romanced Liara in ME, you can resume your relationship in Mass Effect 2 with the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC. ^_^ I hope Liara comes back for part 3 so I can continue that romance. On another note, EA just announced the last DLC for Mass Effect 2. Arrival, as it's called, will be out March 29. I guess they don't plan on doing any more DLC since Mass Effect 3 comes out in November. | |

| Trying to get all the achievements for the Mass Effect takes a long time. I've beaten the game 3 times, and still need to finish the one I'm on, plus three more. | |

| I doubt I will get all of the Achievements. I don't like Ashley or Kaiden enough to play with them on my team long enough to get their Achievements in ME. Also, I don't think I care to try it on Insanity. Maybe when I don't have a bunch of other games to play. | |

| I'm curious, what do you guys think of the whole "Vote for the FemShep" thing Bioware did? | |

| Bioware made a poll on Facebook where people could vote from 6 different appearances for FemShep to be used in the marketing of ME3. Number 5 won the first round but, after massive fan outcry over the blond-haired blue-eyed victory, held another vote eventually settling on a red-haired variant. | |

| Oh, there was another vote. I wondered how the redhead won. When I voted the blond was winning.
I was hoping for #4 for to win, but the redhead is a good choice. The concept art is pretty hot.
I will still be using my custom femShep, though.

| Technically they had included gay romance options in Mass Effect 1 but ended up taking them out. FWIW. You can still access the dialogue if you mess around with some of the PC options, I think. My femSheps are pansexual and my manShep is straight but it's cool that there's finally a gay romance option for manShep. | |

| Who here has been playing Mass Effect 3? Are the endings as bad as people say they are? | |

| So now that some time has passed I want to ask you guys: What did you think of the ending?
As an outsider just observing, it's been hilarious watching the internet collectively shit itself over the ending. Have any of you guys had the sanity shattering, life ruing experience that the people who started "Retake Mass Effect" had?

| I actually just finished it today and can now make an informed opinion on it. Personally, I liked the ending. I picked the "red" ending. Under spoilers just in case. - Spoiler:
I feel that people complaining about the plotholes have a valid point. It really doesn't make any sense that the Catalyst created Reapers (which are synthetic) to harvest organics before they got too smart and made synthetics that would kill the organics. That one is a real head scratcher. There's an Xhibit meme floating around somewhere about it.
But people bitching because Shepard definitely dies in two choices and appears to die in the third, I don't agree with. When there is a war, especially on the scale of the war against the Reapers, people are going to die. People are going to have to make sacrifices. This is already established all the way back in ME when you have to choose between Kaiden and Ashley. It comes around again in the suicide mission in part 2, where there is a chance some characters will die. And it is reinforced in 3 when Mordin sacrifices himself to cure the genophage.
But at the same time I kind of feel that the ongoing battle to get a different ending is kind of unnecessary. In any other medium people would bitch but then move on. Like the ending of Harry Potter, for example. I think it's really great that Bioware is probably going to make a new ending but I just fear that people still won't be satisfied because everyone has a different idea of how they wanted it to end. Not only that, but even if it is good DLC, people will bitch because they had to pay for DLC. Bioware is never going to satisfy everyone and I hope they can make an ending that doesn't sacrifice their artistic integrity.
