| Bleach is far from a perfect piece of work. I'm sure there are a substantial portion of us who aren't satisfied with some aspects of KT's writing, pacing, and characterization.
Since we are all intelligent people, I think we should be able to discuss the good and the bad portions of Bleach in a civilized manner.
Some of mine:
No one ever dies. But even if they did, Orihime would probably just bring them back to life. As a result, there's not much suspense during battles.
Also, the fact that Ichigo is the main character kills the chance of anyone else being able to match up to him, even those on the same side as him. For example, IMO Shinji and Urahara have more right to be the ones to finish off Aizen, but I doubt they will get the chance. Due to shonen hero law, Ichigo will be the only one strong enough.
Finally, Kubo writes the fights as if he's afraid that showing a strong woman will offend his fans. That drives me nuts.

| One of my biggest complains is that Kubo gets too many things running at the same time and then forgets half of them: Kensei vs. Wonderweiss happened off-screen (and appearantly Kensei is dead / wounded / lost), yammy seems to be forgotten, also Ichigo vs. Gin, isshin stands around with nothing to do and so on - this is what bugs me the most.
It's not bad to have many action scenes running but then please give them all credit, show them at least in a few panels instead of thinking "shit I have too much at my hands, i'll finish it off-screen".
Another thing is the no-good-guy-ever-dies rule & that all the Espadas, except for Ulquiorra maybe were just canon fodder. The Gotei always pwns - even though they get wounded and all they always get supply and in the end have the upper hand which gets boring by now. No bad guy really pwned till now.
Also Kubo has a great sense for characters and such but his storywriting sucks big time - Oda, Kishimoto aso. create way better plots with better twists and such.
Last but not least Kubos infamous talent to create interesting characters but writing / drawing them to totally wasted, weak trash (see Tousen). He wasts so much potential it's not funny anymore.
... and please save the "if you don't like it don't read it" speech - I'm sick of it ~

| My biggest complaint for Bleach is that while the heros are all pretty well developed, the villains are all pretty plain.
You could explain this away by saying that the Espada are just Hollows in people suits, and that's true, but that's no exuse for Gin, Aizen, and Tosen. They all have almost to personality.

| Can't really say anything that hasn't already been said. XD I'm tired of the shinigami living through bisections and wounds the size of small cities as ift ehir bodies were made of steel, while the espadas die if you prick their finger too hard, as if their bodies were made of... umm... cake. | |

| I think everyone has already explained my biggest criticisms.
But what bugs me is the copious amounts of untranslatable Spanish used. Or when they do try to translate it, it comes out as a completely different meaning.

| I don't know if you noticed, but many times it is untranslatable because Kubo's Spanish is very, very bad. Looks like he used a very outdated website to translate it to him. I always said about Bleach that the characters were what made up for the storyline. But Kubo really wastes all the great potential he creates his characters with. Soifon, for example, just went back to her old relationship with Yoruichi with no explanation at all (though this is not completely cannon, as they never appeared together after their fight). I didn't want her to keep hating Yoruichi for being left behind, but something should have happened, anything! | |
