| I really loved Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Legend of Korra is shaping up to be amazing as well! I don't think it has officially premiered on Nickelodeon yet, but the first two episodes are available for free on iTunes if you didn't watch them on the special Korranation promo. Korra is my favorite so far but pretty much every character is awesome. | |

| I too enjoyed watching the Avatar cartoon. It was 1 of the best things on tv at the time. I'm glad I never saw the live-action movie.
When is Legend of Korra gonna officially air, in the Fall?

| First couple if episodes were pretty damn good. Tenzin is awesome, as is his family; I want a polar bear dog; not too sure what I think of Mako or Bolin, but I do like the Pro Bending thing; Korra's a bit of a fuck up so she gets points for that, and the animation is fucking beautiful.
So yeah, it's off to a great start and I am pretty excited for the rest.

| I think everyone wants a polar bear dog. I've watched the two episodes three times now and I say that every time. | |

| I still mostly like Korra. I guess I'm just used to things that have great characters and terrible plots (I mean I read Bleach, after all). However, I do think Korra would be 100% better without Mako, or romance in general. It's like they made Korra with the thought in mind that kids who watched Avatar: The Last Airbender would now be teenagers or young adults and would want the romance to be like Twilight. There are other issues with the writing, but I feel like a lot of them could have been addressed better if they had left the romance and the romance triangle out of it. | |

I'll go ahead and spoiler my rant just in case since it is still fairly recent. - Spoiler:
My number one problem with Korra is tone. What is it supposed to be, funny or serious? Because it can't be both at the same time. Take the raid on Air Island. We have Beifong fighting desperately to keep the Equalists from enacting a gentle ethnic cleansing against the smallest of minorities possible, and then we have a kid farting in faces. Asami's dad is trying to kill her, and Bolin makes a parenting joke. You can't do that. Either make the show less serious of take away those incongruous comic relief moments.
I did roll my eyes at the whole love triangle business (even though it wasn't a triangle, it was just an angle. In order for it to be a triangle Mako would have to want to get with Korra, Korra with Asami, and Asami with Mako, or something like that beause triangles have three sides you assholes), even though I despise the fact that everything aimed a young adults feels like it needs one because of Twilight nauseating success. The problem with it was Mako. His "feelinfg" for Korra weren't established at all. They just kind of happen for the sake of it. More time is on him and Asami arguing about it than why he likes Korra. That car seat scene was so fucking stupid. Actually, Asami can kick rocks in general.
But personal preferences aside, there are two indefensible things that happen in Korra that damn near ruin the series; Pro-Bending and the last three minutes or so.
The season spends nearly half of it's episodes faffing about with the go no-where plot. The most it ever accomplishes is a minor step forward in her air bending training (and furthering the "romance," I guess) but that point is rendered obsolete around the time Tenzin stops trying to even teach her. In fact, Tenzin was pointless to begin with. Korra didn't need spirituality to air bend, she just needed to be pissed off, which is the exact opposite of the entire conceit of the goddamn series! Fucking call her names and make her feel bad Tenzin, that's all you had to do!
The the very end of the last episode was the most egregious offence, however. So Korra get's handed air bending and neigh-godlike powers, and all the consequences of the war with the Equalists are undone by her ability to restore bending. It's like the plot was apologizing to her for getting distracted with the Equalists and just handed her everything she was supposed to be working for to make up for it.
The hell of it is, despite the fact that his actual back story is a better case against bending than his made up one, Amon was still right; The benders do hate the non-benders. They treat not being able to bend as a fate worse than death, seemingly lacking any self-awareness that their state is one most people have to deal with every day.
So that's Korra, the bad guy was right and the good guys spend more time playing games and trying to bone each other than doing the thing that the show was supposed to be about.

| So uh, how about that Korrasami in book 3? Book 3 was so much better than the first two. If you stopped watching, I'd recommend picking it back up. | |

| The fight scenes in the finale were amazing, too. Probably the best in the entire series so far. Everyone got to be a badass at some point.
I'm excited for book 4. | |

| Well ladies and gents, LoK is now over. Even though the finale is not as 'grand' as how The Last Airbender [cartoon] was, it still ended nicely regardless. And those last moments in the final episode were just... go see it for yourselves and you'll see what I'm talking about. | |

| It was pretty awesome. The finale really delivered IMO. The only bad part is listening to the people with their heteronormative bullshit complain about "it came out of nowhere." | |

It didn't come out of nowhere so much as it went from a a 6 to an 11 in two minutes. If you want to talk about out of nowhere, let's talk about Zhu Li and Varrick. I was ready to quit Korra cold after season 2, but someone convinced me to to watch season 3 and holy shit. Season 4 felt like it was trying to balance way too many plates with not nearly enough sticks. The budget cuts really showed, and the season really suffered for it. Kuvira never got proper development and was a one dimensional megalomaniac tyrant until her few minutes with Korra in the finale, Su's the fucking worst, Lin got told to stuff her feelings because they are incontinence to her family again, and the list goes on. It was a season of half finished plot threads and character arcs, but I can't really begrudge them for it because they didn't have the resources to do it properly. I still enjoyed it, I just wish Nick hadn't pulled the rug out from under them. Or that it wasn't on Nick in general, really. Even Cartoon Network would have let them cut loose a little more than Nick. Also, I'm not going to lie, Korrasami has me salty. It started out as a crack ship and now it's fucking canon. Meanwhile, we're over here waiting over a DECADE for Yoruichi and Sui-Feng to be even in the same chapter!

| Yeah I don't have any fantasy that Kubo will actually do that. I'm not sure Kubo even knows what queer baiting is, or that it's a thing he kind of did. | |
