Bleach has been canceled edit: or not?

Damn. Now i guess i will actually have to read the Fullbringer arc to find out what happens, for however much that's worth.

The Fullbringer Arc seems toxic in a way that nothing the show has done so far has achieved. It's getting replaced by a Naruto spinoff <_>

The speculation, of course, is whether or in what manner the current arc will get animated.

My irrational hatred of the anime aside, it's likely just a hiatus. People didn't like the Fullbringer Arc, to be sure, but Bleach's ratings aren't cancle-bad (yet). The problem is that they're close to being done with the arc and there's nothing left for them to animate, and they just came off of a lengthy filler arc. Even if Kubo hadn't taken 5 weeks off they still would have needed to take a break.

Bleach is still too profitable to drop. If word get's out that Studio Perriot dropped the license, then you should start to worry. Or celebrate, because that means a competent studio might get a chance to do right by Bleach.

Really? That actually might be good. I have class until 5:20 on Tuesdays here, and an hour-long commute to get back to the dorm, so i've resigned myself to missing it and go out to eat for Tuesday dinner instead and just watch it streaming later, but if they shifted it around properly, i could watch it and still socialize on Tuesdays...

That's right, for Bleach's 20th anniversary, the final story arc is [finally and actually] getting animated next year. And in the meantime, Kubo's recent oneshot project, Burn the Witch, will also get animated later this year. But with the current COVID-19 outbreak going on, these projects may get pushed back. Time will tell...
