Everyone always assumes she has been a captain.
But I've been reading through both 'SOULs' and 'Color Bleach+' and both deny, or don't mention, her ever being a captain.
Quite honestly, I have no clue of this ever being mentioned in the manga because I haven't read it in ages, but both of these books really throw me off on this. To cover myself just a bit more in case I'm going to say really stupid things, I'm also not sure to what point these two are properly translated and stuff (Since there seems to be a lot of discussion on that point. From what I've seen, anyway).
So now on to the real business.
What I can find in these books on her:
"She is a veteran soldier who was once the Supreme Commander of the Secret Remote Squad as well as the General Corps Leader of the Punishment Force."
Second Division isn't mentioned. Which is strange, if her former "jobs" were mentioned, why not mention the captaincy as well? It's not as if it's just a small thing.
As for Color Bleach+ it's pretty much the same;
"Once the commander in chief of the Secret Remote Squad, she has given her command to Soi Fon"
But this didn't really draw my attention and isn't really anything special. A question in 'Color Bleach+' was though.
"Who has never been a member of the Thirteen Court Guard Companies?"
The options are Yoruichi, Rukia, Kaien and Kisuke.
The answer:
"Rukia Kuchiki (B) is a member of the Thirteenth Company and Kaien Shiba (C) was formerly the assistant captain of Thirteenth Company. Kisuke Urahara was the captain of the Twelfth Company. Yoruichi Shihoin is the only one who was assigned to the Secret Remote Squad and has no experience in the Court Guard Companies."
I just don't get it.
I remember in the "Turning back the pendulum" Yoruichi clearly being mentioned as the captain for the Second Division and being there at the meeting but then why is it denied in the Bootleg? ...Unless it's not to be trusted, of course. >_> And in that case I'm just being silly.
Anyway, just wondering if there's someone who can clear things up for me. Even if it is just my imagination.
