PostSubject: Favorite movie/tv quotes   Tue Jul 27, 2010 3:10 am

not much explaining needed... what are some of your favorite movie/tv quotes? which ones do you use regularly?

Yesterday I was looking at all the quotes from Zoolander, and gosh that movie has a ton of good ones! Here's some of the ones I love.

Derek Zoolander: I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking. And I plan on finding out what that is.

Matilda: I became...
Hansel: What?
Matilda: Bulimic.
Derek Zoolander: You can read minds?

[after he pokes a girl with a pin]
Mugatu: Oh, I'm sorry, did my pin get in the way of your ass?

Derek Zoolander: Uhh Earth to Matilda, I was at a day spa. Day, D-A-I-Y-E. Okay?

Derek Zoolander: [high-pitched cough] ... I think I'm getting the Black Lung, Pop.

ok, after reading them on imdb I now realize there are just too many.

One from the movie Mystery Men (also happens to be Ben Stiller - who I usually don't like that much) that my brother said at dinner:

Go fork yourself!

Anything Ziva David from NCIS says is golden, but one I remember (because the episode aired yesterday) was when she said, "It's like looking for a needle in a needlestack."

From the Lion King, when the jackals are talking about how Mufasa's name sends shivers down their spines, and one says "Mufasa!" and they're like "Oh, say it again."

There's probably others that I'll think of later.

From Mean Girls - which is so quotable.

"You go, Glen Coco"

My brother was talking out loud while doing his wedding invitations and his voices reminded me of Damien's voice at that part of the movie - so I looked it up on youtube and showed it to him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htyf5wnC96w Then I read a review of Pretty Little Liars on afterellen and the quote was in it, haha. (I only read the reviews because they are hilarious, I haven't watched the show.)

"Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!"

From the series Firefly, a quote by the character Wash. ^_^

Wash was awesome!

"A very special hell, one reserved pedophiles and people who talk in the theater"(quote might be slightly off but think that's it) - Shepard, also from Firefly....

^^^ great funny quotes

Fog: We're sending somebody in to negotiate!
[Corben walks into the room and shoots Aknot between the eyes. As he falls, the other Mangalores drop their weapons and bow over him, keening]
Korben Dallas: Anybody else want to negotiate?
Fog: Wh-where did he learn to n-negotiate like that?
President Lindberg: [looking at General Munro] I wonder.

I also love Ruby Rhod in that movies with all his "Bzzzzz" and screaming. and his one quote that goes something like this (I'm horrible at quoting movies, I have to see stuff written down).

"Father, do you smoke?" (father = priest)

A favorite Ziva quote of mine:

DiNozzo: (after the conversation has taken an unexpected turn) How did we get here?
Ziva: I drove.

The Dark Knight's Joker said my favorite quote. Not the words, but the attitude.

"Let's put a smile on that face" (Maniacal Laughter)

Also a favorite quote of mine comes from Eminem's song "Sing for the Moment"

"Words are a motherfucker. They can be great, or they can degrate, or, even worse, they can teach hate" So true.

Team America's racy Pussies, Dicks, and Assholes speech

Guy in Bar: See, there's three kinds of people: dicks, pussies, and assholes. Pussies think everyone can get along, and dicks just want to fuck all the time without thinking it through. But then you got your assholes, Chuck. And all the assholes want us to shit all over everything! So, pussies may get mad at dicks once in a while, because pussies get fucked by dicks. But dicks also fuck assholes, Chuck. And if they didn't fuck the assholes, you know what you'd get? You'd get your dick and your pussy all covered in shit!

And last but not least from Metal Gear Awesome 2

"CRYPTIC METAPHOR!!"

(my last one is from the movie The Fifth Element, I forgot to mention that)

After eating food, when I feel sleepy, I joke that I have the itis.

It's a reference from the Boondocks cartoon. ^_^ Basically, the guy opened a restaurant where the food was so good they would fall asleep right afterwards, so the restaurant also had beds, and the restaurant's name was "The Itis." XD

Best show ever: Big bang theory!

Sheldon: Can I get you anything to drink?
Girl: Tepid water please.

Howard Wolowitz: Renaissance fairs aren't about historical accuracy. They're about taking chubby girls who work at Kinkos and lacing them up in corsets so tight their bosom jumps out and says "howdy".
Sheldon Cooper: Bosoms would not have said "howdy" in the Fifteenth Century. If anything, they would have said "Huzzah!"
Howard Wolowitz: I don't care what the bosoms say, Sheldon. I just want to be part of the conversation.

Leslie Winkle: Hello, dummy.
Sheldon Cooper: Hello, insufficiently intelligent person.
Leslie Winkle: Ooh, send me to the burn unit.

Leonard Hofstadter: I'm glad Penny's dating. Now I can really let loose.
Howard Wolowitz: You were holding back?
Leonard Hofstadter: Out of courtesy, yes.
Rajesh Koothrappali: What about the ten years before Penny.
Leonard Hofstadter: Hey, I've date plenty of women.
Howard Wolowitz: Like who?
Leonard Hofstadter: Well, there's Joyce Kim, Leslie Winkle...
[pause]
Sheldon Cooper: Someone call the Oxford English Dictionary. The definition of "plenty" has been changed to "two".

Sheldon: But then some poor woman is going to pin her hopes on my sperm, what if she winds up with a toddler that doesn't know if he should use an integral or a differential to solve for the area under a curve?
Leonard: I'm sure she'll still love him.
Sheldon: I wouldn't.

Leonard: Come on! We have a combined IQ of 360 we should be able to figure out how to get into a stupid building.
[two girls selling cookies ring every bell, the door opens]
Sheldon: What do you think their combined IQ is ?

Sheldon: Do you want to hear an interesting thing about stairs?
Leonard: Not really.
Sheldon: [going on anyway] If the height of a single step is off by as little as two millimeters, most people will trip.
Leonard: I don't care.
[thinks about it]
Leonard: Two milli - that doesn't seem right.
Sheldon: It's true - I did a series of experiments when I was twelve. My father broke his clavicle.
Leonard: Is that why they sent you to boarding school?
Sheldon: No - that was the result of my work with lasers.

Sheldon: You're not done with her, are you?
Leonard: Our babies will be smart AND beautiful.
Sheldon: Not to mention imaginary.

Sheldon Cooper: You must release me from my oath. I can't keep your secret, Penny. I'm going to fold like an energy-based de novo protein in conformational space... like a Renaissance triptych... like a cheap suit.
Penny: Why is it so hard for you to keep one little secret?
Sheldon Cooper: I'm constitutionally incapable. That's why I was refused clearance for a very prestigious government research fellowship at a secret military supercollider located beneath a fake agricultural station 12.5 miles southeast of Travers City, Michigan.
[pause]
Sheldon Cooper: Which you did not hear about from me.

My favorite movie quote actually comes from Lion King 1 1/2 Love :

[Timon and Pumbaa have found their dream home; Timon is talking to himself, Pumbaa is making a celebration supper]
Timon: The monkey was right! We found it! The perfect life!
Pumbaa: I'll just whip up a little something.
Timon: He had the perfect name for it, too.
Pumbaa: Come and get it!
Timon: [sits at a rock] Such a wonderful phrase. It had this rhythm. Laduda Ladada.
Pumbaa: Try this - hot tuna frittata.
Timon: Hmm. No, that's not it.
Pumbaa: The spinach armada.
Timon: Quiet, Pumbaa. I'm trying to think.
Pumbaa: A spoon of ricotta.
Timon: Two words.
Pumbaa: A wormy piccata.
Timon: Six syllables.
Pumbaa: Kahuna colada.
Timon: Twelve letters.
Pumbaa: A blue enchilada.
Timon: Rhymes with... .
Pumbaa: Legumes on a platter.
Timon: Think, think, think.
Pumbaa: [poking a dish] This oughta be hotta.
Timon: I forget.
Pumbaa: I gotta lambada!
[dances right into Timon]
Timon: HEY! How can you dance at a time like this? I'm DYIN' here!... . Ooh, sorry about that, pal.
Pumbaa: Hakuna Matata.
Timon: ....Come again?
Pumbaa: Hakuna Matata - It means "no worries". Ah-ohhhh... .

"One shall stand, one shall fall."
"Freedom is the right of all sentient beings."
"Fate rarely calls upon us at a moment of our choosing."
"We are here. We are waiting."
"For in those memories, we live on."
"Til all are one!"
"Autobots, roll out!"
-all by Optimus Prime

I never get tired of Peter Cullen saying such great lines.

"Oh day, arise! The atoms are dancing.
The souls are dancing, overcome with ecstasy.
I'll whisper in your ear where their dance is leading them.
All the atoms in the air and in the desert know well, they seem insane.
Every single atom, happy or miserable, becomes enamoured of the Sun;
Of which nothing can be said."

Poem of the Atoms by Armand Amar, from the movie Bab'Aziz.
