PostSubject: Sookie Stackhouse novels   Tue Jun 29, 2010 5:21 pm

Has anyone else read the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris?

I started reading them after I realized that the show True Blood was based on them.

They're actually pretty awesome. I'm totally hooked.

My favorite character is Sookie. But I also like Pam.

I've read the first one and I have the next seven to read.

First thoughts - it's unbelievably shit. It was a struggle to finish and ended up being relegated to the bathroom as toilet literature. I really hope that the next book is a vast improvement on the first one, otherwise they're going straight to ebay.

The only reason I'm going to read the next one is because I fancy Eric. ... and the vague hope that they get better later on.

Edit: Okay, so the second one is much better and I'm actually enjoying it. Though I do find Sookie to be really annoying.

Really? Compared to Bella, I find Sookie refreshing. Although now that I think about it, Sookie is kind of a Mary Sue as well. But she's at least not codependent. And yes, I am Team Eric as well. XD

I think it definitely gets more interesting in later books.
